This is where I will document the annoyingly slow ups and downs of this journey called "weightloss"

there's got to be something terribly wrong with me. Why is it so hard to change myself? ugh. I have all these GREAT ideas about chaning things in my life, but never seem to follow through with them.
just today, i noticed in a moment of clarity, that there are five (FIVE!!) soda take out cups in my trash in the room. THIS has to stop. I've stopped drinking diet sodas because i dont want to be putting aspartame in my body, but now look at all the sugar that is going in still...
gross.
maybe this has turned into a complain about myself blog. i dont know, but whatever it is, hopefully i will start to let it help me.

  1. Hey Ashley!!! I miss you! And I love that I can keep up with your blog, although I don't have the time I used to to keep up with this type of thing. :)

I want to encourage you today. I know what it feels like to be frustrated with myself, and to feel that if I can't change myself, than I will never have power over anything. A feeling of helplessness follows, submission into the life we have happens, and the life we want continues to be just out of reach.

Know that you CAN do it. Our Heavenly Father gave you a strength, but He wants you to find it within yourself. You have to dig deep, search your soul. And when you're faced with one little decision, use that strength to choose water instead of high fructose corn syrup and sugar. If only one change happens, but it sticks, you will gradually realize the amount of strength you have in there and learn more about who you are. One day at a time, one good choice at a time. Never give up on YOU.

Start small, and quickly move past any slip ups. Learn from them.

My dad went through a near-death experience, and it jolted him into changing his life. He's sober, and fully expects to be every day until he dies. (YAY!!!) Some people need that jolt. Others receive it, and it still doesn't change their actions. Reach inside of yourself BEFORE you need that jolt, and you will be able to accomplish anything.

We're all human. But I know you have at least one thing that you're absolutely perfect at. Have you EVER had a drink of alcohol? A cigarette? Slept with a guy to make him like you? Choose ONE thing you're perfect at. And use the strength from that, to make one change in your life today. And then tomorrow. Within a month of being perfect at it, if you keep choosing right, it won't be a temptation, and you will be free from your soda habit.

Be careful to be aware of those who love you, but may sabotage your efforts. If they do, it's about them, not you. Gain the confidence you need from the right sources, and know that our Heavenly Father wants you to succeed. I promise He does. That is why He placed that secret strength inside of you to discover. It is a great present from your Father to you. You just need to open it, and don't let it sit on the shelf to collect dust. USE IT!

I love you! Email me if you want, and I'll try to be better about checking your blog. :)

And I still haven't seen Eclipse yet. THAT is how busy I've been. That, and my prego belly zaps my energy. :)
